What is the use of Metaverse without Life
I am intrigued with the Metaverse especially with the amount of investment being done in the region. The utility value is often a question, and many consider it a shiny pebble. Of course, Gaming, Real estate companies and Leisure management/Tourism companies have found the sweet spot and its has delivered great utility value for this industry, especially in providing a better 3D viewing of places of interest. However, the rendering of experience is still pretty static, built once and used many times without real-time interactivity and intelligence from the metaverse entities.
The use of web based metaverse with camera based real-time human face projections (without avatars and without VR glasses) is also finding a use with e-Government people assissted services - for example to have the ambience of a virtual court when a will is being signed, or the ambience of a government official interactions in a 3D room environment.
Based on Web3 principles, the following is my thinking to increase the utility value of Metaverse.
1) Build a Metaverse on 3D visualisations and impose a digital twin based on senors, IoT devices on the Metaverse (for example: build a city in Metaverse, and impose sensors that measure humidity, Co2 emissions, temperature, seismic metrics from different points in the city). This brings the Metaverse to Life with real-time insights.
2) Build real-time intelligence on the visualisations from the sensors, enhance visualizations using heatmaps, and feed onto alerting systems for real-time responses, and crises/ disaster recovery timely actions deployed at command centres
3) Use simulation capabilities on the Metaverse model, to simulate people, crowds, emergency responses in the digital domain
This is when you will have the true intelligence, decision making capablities and insights from a Metaverse. The confluence of Metaverse with Digital Twins and Spatial Simulations will deliver higher business value and a greater human experience.
